Arriving in Florence felt so relaxing after two days in fast-paced and crowded Rome. We stayed with an extremely friendly Italian woman named Carla who made us a beautiful spread of breakfast every morning, including the most delicious coffee everrr, and she also talked us into eating lampredotto (cow stomach), because we told her we had been eating a lot of pizza. Apparently pizza is not a traditional Florentine dish. 🙂 The architectural highlight of Florence has to be the Duomo, which is huge and awesome-looking, and we spent hours sitting outside it one night with beers and cigarillos. It was the best. Also the best was watching the sun set over Florence, wandering around the Boboli Gardens, hanging out in the same square every day, and of course eating gelato constantly. I could go on and on about this lovely city, but mostly I just recommend that you go visit, and enjoy a few favorite photos in the meantime! My next Italy post will be Manarola, which is actually the most beautiful little place I’ve ever seen in real life. So excited to share those photos soon!
